There is a dizzying array of skin care products out there in the world. I’ve tried my share over the years, and dropped them when they made my face break out or didn’t help with wrinkles or texture. I’ve currently settled on a skin care routine that I really like (at age 55), so I thought I’d share the products with you since some of them are little-known treasures. (Don’t miss the skin care set giveaway at the end of the post!)
I follow the same routine both morning and night:
1) Miracle II Moisturizing Soap
I wash my face and body with this wonderful liquid soap. It’s non-drying and keeps my skin clear. The large bottle is a little clumsy, so on the advice of Teresa Tapp I use a haircolor bottle to dispense it. Just shake and pour a small amount in the palm and apply to a damp face. It “melts” my makeup well, although I also use Almay eye makeup remover pads afterwards. I keep another bottle in the shower and use it instead of bar soap or fragranced liquid soap.
2) Skin Saver Face
I’ve been using this little bottle of oil on my face for the past eight years. Oil? On the face? Surprisingly, it doesn’t make your face oily, it seems to balance the skin. Skin Saver Face is a blend of pure homeopathic quality essential oils blended in a proportion specific to development of skin elasticity. It contains Fruit, Cypress, Mandarin Orange, Rose Wood, Lemon, Frankincense, and German Chamomile in a base of high quality Squalene oil (derived from olives). I spritz water on my face, then dab on the oil and spread it with my fingers.
3) Celazome Eyelyph Serum
This eye cream is really good! It has reduced wrinkles and bags under my eyes, and lifted the skin above my eyelid. It has really smoothed out the under-eye area and reduced dark circles. It has actually turned back time in my eye area since I started using it more than a year ago. It contains Vitamin C, botanicals, essential oils, and Lyphazome® nanospheres loaded with antioxidants and botanicals. I consider this one of my anti-aging secrets!
4) Plexus Body Cream
This is a fairly new addition to my skin care routine. I had previously used a night cream and it was good but I’ve been far more impressed with Plexus Body Cream on my face. I apply it last in my bedtime and morning routine. It’s a purplish thick lotion that spreads easily. It’s made of Spirulina Algae and Activated Charcoal, Aloe Vera Gel, Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Lavender Oil and Rosaceae Oil. The biggest change I’ve noticed since using it is a smoothing and brightening of my facial skin, which is important at my age. I could swear I wake up in the morning looking younger!
I’m happy with the results of this skin care routine. At age 55, I receive compliments on my skin and believe me, I’m not one to take a lot of time with my skin care!
