Catching Up….and “For Women First” Magazine

Today’s post is a catchup message, to let you know what’s happening around here….

On Saturday we were waiting at the airport gate to board our flight home from Hawaii when my husband received a phone call that his dad had passed away. After a very long twelve hours we arrived back in Oklahoma City and went straight to his mom’s house. Since then we’ve been in a whirlwind of funeral arrangements, travel arrangements for family members, and catching up at home from being gone. Last night we looked through old photos to find pictures of grandpa with the kids. He was an example of quiet faithfulness and love, and he had an impact on many lives. Fred Siems was my father-in-law for 36 years and I loved him. Please remember our family in prayer this week.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the emotional spectrum, I’m featured in this week’s issue of “For Women First” magazine (circulation of 1.2 million). The article is about adrenal fatigue and my story is shared. I’m happy because it mentions Plexus as part of my recovery which is a true story. It’s pretty cool to open a major magazine and see yourself on a two-page spread….but then I still have to get the laundry done and today is homeschool co-op day. 🙂

Just wanted to let you know about that in case you want to pick up a copy! Here’s the cover of the issue:

And here’s what the article looks like:

I hope you have a really great week. We have a lot of family coming in for the viewing on Friday and the funeral on Saturday. It will be an emotional week, but a good time of loving on each other.

With love,
Charlotte Siems

  1. Dear Charlotte, I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I will lift you all in prayer for comfort, peace, and strength.

I just picked up that issue of For Women First, and am excited to read that you are featured! I haven’t gotten that far into the magazine yet, but now I can hardly wait! Your story has been an encouragement to me for a while—in fact, you are the reason I tried T-Tapp!

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thess. 3:15

    1. Charlotte says:

Thank you so much, Bronda! We appreciate the prayers.

  2. Praying for supernatural strength, peace that passes all understanding, and His unfailing love revealed in many suddenlies.
    Will look for magazine.

    1. Charlotte says:

Thank you for those life-giving words, Rose

  3. Asking God to bless your family with strength and faith through these next days. May He show His light to all through the love and support of your family and friends. Praying for God’s perpetual light to shine upon Fred Siems and lead him home to God’s loving embrace.

Congrats on the piece in the magazine. Funny how/when our blessings are sent to us. Thank you, always, for your inspiration.

    1. Charlotte says:

Diane, I was struck with the timing of the magazine, too. I appreciate your words of blessing.

  4. Holding you and your loved ones in prayer, Charlotte. Congratulations on the article!

  5. Joyce Holder says:

Charlotte, we were saddened at the news of Fred’s passing. Wish we could be there to give all of you hugs, especially Faye. Praying for comfort for all of you. Edward and Joyce Holder (Sara’s grandparents)

    1. Charlotte says:

Thank you so much, Joyce! We are glad for the gathering of family, and Faye will be taken care of. Thanks for your prayers!

  6. So, so sorry for your family’s loss, Charlotte!
Congratulations on your story in First Women First. I’ll be looking for it this week when I head for groceries! I’ll be excited to read about {and see} “someone I know”
