Another Homeschool Graduation

Of course there were last-minute errands and final touches on food. We arrived at the church an hour early to decorate and set everything up.
The theme colors were purple and gray, so we used a little napkin trick to highlight both colors. First, alternate the colors in a stack:
Then put the stack on a non-slip surface, in this case an upholstered chair seat. Make a fist and press down on the top of the stack:
Twist your fist until the napkins fan out at the desired angle:
Remove the top napkin, which will be squished:
Lay them out on the table:
We set up decorations on the round tables: a stack of books with an apple on top, scattered purple and silver chocolate kisses, and Caleb’s Senior pictures:
There was a display of samples of Caleb’s work, keepsakes from activities and photos:
The graduate arrived:
He graduated:
And then we ate!
The graduate chose the menu: chocolate cupcakes and yellow cupcakes (both with homemade chocolate frosting), Puppy Chow, pretzels, Hot Pretzels, Peanut M&M’s, Cheez-its, Mini Snickers and Siems Punch.
The ceremony was short and sweet. And of course I cried.
Congratulations, Caleb!
What a great post! Congratulations Caleb! Way to go!
I also want to say congrats to YOU and YOUR HUBBY! Look at the wonderful young man you and your husband raised! I am sure the Lord is beaming in pride! :0)
We are have completed kindergarten and first grade with our oldest daughter and pray to continue homeschooling year after year!! To sit here and think about our little girls one day graduating highschool, brings tears to my eyes (and we have many, many years to go)! But like you and others have mentioned – one day we will blink, and they will be grown! I’m sure I will be a crying fool the day each of our girls graduate! HA So for now I will be happy that our oldest is only 7! lol
Thanks for sharing such a special day with the rest of us! Congrats to all of you – you have a beautiful and inspiring family!!!

Very nice – love the napkin trick! Sometimes simple is best; looks like it was a nice time for all.
This is so beautiful! Congratulations to your son on his graduation! We are first year homeschoolers. This brings me so much hope for our children. I smiled as I read your post because it is all very touching. I know you were very proud of your son! 🙂 I love your blog!
Thank you, Jenn! He is now a sophomore in college and is doing very well! Stay tuned for another graduation next spring, lol. Best wishes to you and your family on your homeschool adventure!
