Honest Truth About What I’ve Been Doing

honest-truth

This is one of those heart-pounding, hard-to-click-publish kind of posts. In fact, yesterday I sort of wandered around and felt kind of down, until evening came and I decided to do what I gotta do.

You might wonder what in the world I’m going to announce or confess. Well, here it is. For more than five years I’ve blogged here at This Lovely Place, writing about recipes, T-Tapp exercise, how to stay sane and happy in a busy world, homeschooling, and more. And now I’ll tell you a few things I HAVEN’T written about:

  • Being so stretched financially that the change of seasons stressed me out because it meant buying shoes and coats for the kids and I didn’t know where the money was going to come from.
  • Swallowing hard when we had a church party at our house because the expense dipped into our weekly grocery money.
  • Paying a business coach large sums of money to learn how to run an online business….and ending up in debt and almost burned out because my family saw virtually no financial benefit from 2 1/2 years of hard work.
  • Trying to sell a couple of different products to supplement my family’s income….and ending up losing money on both deals.

Maybe you can relate, maybe not. I tell you not to gain sympathy, but to lay out simple truth and give you some back story.

As if it wasn’t scary enough to tell you these things about myself, here’s another one: I’ve avoided writing about the business side of Plexus because I didn’t want to offend anyone or cause them to unsubscribe. Then I realized that if someone got upset or unsubscribed, I’m not a good fit for them anyway, and they probably didn’t know me. Everyone else knows my heart and they’ll just skip it if it doesn’t interest them.

It would be wrong of me not to share because I’m guessing there’s another Mom out there who has experienced some of the same things I just confessed.

So here’s the simple version. Plexus has really helped my family’s health in a lot of ways. We love it. Even my husband. That’s saying something.

Long story short, I joined as an Ambassador, intending to just get the products wholesale. Then I couldn’t keep my mouth shut about it and quickly discovered the answer to my years of prayers for my business to help my family.

Network marketing may sound pushy or shady to you. I understand, I used to feel that way, too. Maybe some companies still are. It’s actually a business model where a company, instead of buying magazine ads and TV spots, pays Moms and Dads to spread the word about their products. They share their experience and educate, they don’t market and sell and push. At least not the successful ones.

I won’t bore you with facts–but it’s nice to know that a few weeks ago, Plexus Worldwide was named the #8 fastest-growing privately-owned company in America, being #2 in the health category. The company is debt-free so they didn’t borrow their way to that position.

If you’ve been looking for a way to make a real difference in your family’s financial future, please consider this. Besides the compensation plan that will make it worth your while (and we all know that our time is valuable), you’ll be working directly with me, on one of the fastest-growing teams in Plexus. Wish I knew a way to make that sound less corny, but it’s true. Our team is drama-free and committed to integrity while helping change people’s health–and lives.

Here’s a page that explains a bit more: Join Our Plexus Team

Or send an email and we can chat by phone or email, no pressure.

If this is totally not for you, maybe you know someone who would love to know about it. I’d really appreciate it if you’d send them the link to this post.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for your support and kindness to me across the years. And have an awesome week!

With love,
Charlotte Siems

I have been a subscriber for awhile now (1or2 years) and I know you have had your website and written very encouraging things for a long time. I hope someone is not offended that you are excited about a product that has been very beneficial to you and your husband and have the opportunity to make a few dollars from. Success is not merely subscriber numbers but also quality numbers, IMHO. Blessings!

  3. Charlotte –

    I totally understand!
I have always appreciated that you didn’t “sell” (you just told your story)!

  4. Oh Charlotte, thank you for sharing! I wish I could have talked to you at the retreat more because so often over the last 2 years I’ve looked at the “business coaching” and wished I could just sign up for it thinking that was what I’ve been missing and why I’m not where I want to be. It is so encouraging to know I’m not the only one…

Elizabeth, there’s definitely value in getting some coaching, it just doesn’t need to be long-term or more expensive than you can actually afford. Ask God to provide the resources, education and coaching you need. He will amaze you with what He provides! Personal growth is one of the biggest pieces of success, for sure. We need to chat! 🙂

  5. Charlotte,

I remember the first time I met you (at Sandi’s Dallas event several years ago) and how transparent & confident you were.

I know things will turn around for you and that it’ll be better than it ever before.

    Appreciate your courage and transparency!
