Summer Wedding Shower Ideas

Wedding showers are such fun! They are occasions filled with laughter, hope and blessings, as a new couple embarks on their marriage journey together. The next time you’re helping with such an event, here are some pretty summer wedding shower ideas.

My daughter and I recently hosted a wedding shower at our church. It’s nice to match the color scheme to the wedding colors, and in this case it was navy blue with touches of orange. We added some other bright accent colors in the decorations, too.

The summer wedding shower menu: Half-chocolate/half-white cake from a bakery, cheese crackers, mixed nuts, chocolate-dipped pretzel rods, chocolate-covered strawberries and our special wedding punch recipe.

Note that the punch is a lighter pink color after the 7Up soft drink is added:

There was music playing in the background to promote a relaxed atmosphere. At this particular shower we didn’t play any games. We enjoyed the refreshments, and continued to do so while the gifts were opened and admired. The bride-to-be and her fiance were very gracious and it was a happy time of celebration. We’re looking forward to a beautiful wedding!
