T-Tapp Together Bootcamp, Day 1
It’s Day One of our T-Tapp Together Bootcamp! Although some of you began yesterday (or another day), today is the first official day of the free event.
If you haven’t already, measure yourself! Measure in the morning, if possible, in your birthday suit. We don’t want to know what your clothes measure! This is a great baseline to have, but don’t use it to beat yourself up if you don’t get the results you were expecting. Remember, don’t measure again until you’ve taken two days off after your last bootcamp workout. Even then, you might not see inch loss until a week or two later.
Don’t despair! We’re working with a human body here, not a room remodel. We can’t do A + B and expect C. It just doesn’t work that way. There are many factors involved in inch loss: how many sizes you have to lose, hormones, state of health, age, ability to hold form and more.
That said, you’re sure to reap benefits from this extra effort. It’s a great way to begin your consistency and jumpstart your body.
Today’s form tip: Make a mitten with your hand. Fold your thumb in. Place it palm down on the floor between your feet. Your index finger and pinkie finger should touch your shoe on either side. THIS is how far apart your feet should be (and stay) during the workout–four fingers apart. Yes, I know it’s much closer than it looks on most of the DVDs, but try it and see how it helps activate muscle!
NOTE: If you have extra padding on your thighs and you cannot get your feet that close together, that is perfectly fine! Don’t worry that this won’t work because of that. Adapt to your body, get them as close as you can and call it good!
You may leave a comment if you’d like to report in for accountability.
PLEASE NOTE: I PROMISE, I will read every single comment! Please don’t be offended or hurt if I don’t ANSWER every comment! With more than 100 T-Tappers participating, it’s likely to get pretty lively around here. I’m a busy Mom spinning many plates in the air. I’m really excited to offer this fun way to bootcamp together, but it will be virtually impossible for me to offer individual support to every participant. Thanks for your understanding!

It’s back to basics for this t-tapper. I will celebrate my four year t-tapp anniversary on August 4th and I thought it a good idea to revisit my very first workout…Basic workout instructional. UGH! It kicked my booty in a good way! I’m not looking for HUGE inch loss but I am excited about tweaking my form and tightening up.
Has it really been that long, Janie? Wow. You look SOOO great!! I started Instructional #1 yesterday, too, and it definitely kicks booty!
I’m with Jane! My daughter and I went back to Basic instructional. I haven’t done it in years probably and my legs are like noodles! We’re doing 2 workouts Thurs/Fri. I’m sure I’ll be happy to see Saturday! But this is good!
Haha! I can relate to the noodles, Karen!
I did Ladybug this morning – the standing portion. Will repeat later today, and if time allows, add the floor piece.
I’m psyched for this jumpstart! Thanks for leading us Charlotte!
Woo-hoo Diane!! I love Ladybug. Carry on!
I will tell the truth – I didn’t want to get up and do it this morning!! But I knew my mom was doing it 1600 miles away sooo I got up and did it!!! Made it to Thread the needle and couldn’t get my coordination!!! I will have 3 days in a row to practice now!! Thanks for the boost and the tips!! Any other advice if the measurements are not going down on the hips and thighs?
Love that accountability! If you make it through Thread the Needle it still counts as a full workout. If you’re wobbling *too* much, lats are probably not activated. Bend deeper, really press lower back flat and lift ribs to stay more stable. The same things will help with inch loss. Oh, and make sure you’re NOT leaning back when you hear “shoulders back.” Shoulder to hip alignment is key for lower body inch loss. Lift, lift ribs–spine long and straight–that will help get shoulders where they should be, chest out!
Love that we are doing this together. I didnt want to get up to do it but when I saw that it was 7 my time and knew it was 5 your time I wanted to be doing it at the same time.
I felt really good and even walked a mile after. thanks for doing this with me.
My reply was to my Daughter Tara in Oregon. I’m doing the Tempo Arms as I really need to strenghten my arms. I felt so energized this morning.
Totally new to T-tapp — so I’m a beginner — checking in though and giving it a shot
Yayyy you, Martha! This is a great way to begin! Keep checking in every day and we’ll cheer you on!
Just came back from a 12 hour trip for two funerals yesterday. Started the 15 min. Plus this am. So glad for the encouragement and a group doing this together. I thought about all the ladies and men starting this morning! Found some one in Edmonton and we plan to get together this Fall for T tapp. I am so excited!! 40 mins from here but so worth it for me! Thanks Charlotte for the tips and encouragment. Wish I had the ladybug but will do this for now. 🙂 Blessings to everyone.
Bless your heart, Gale–trips like that wear me out! That is cool that you found a sort-of-local T-Tapper! I’m glad you finished Day #1!
I’m also starting back with instructional 1.
Angie, that is a GREAT place to start!!
I just finished the BWO+. My plan is to do ladybug pop or diva derierre (sp?) or broom in the afternoon. I would like to do the BWO+ for 4 days in a row adding 1 short something in the afternoon. I have 3 really early days ahead of me but I’m planning on getting up even earlier to get it done before I head out the door. I know it’s a fantastic way to start my day. Wishing you all the best for the next 2-4 days & beyond!
Good for you!! Great plan, carry on!
Did tempo arms. Hoping for the same results as charlotte with not just arm loss but waist loss a couple of weeks later! It was hard this morning for some reason!
Tempo Arms makes me sweat! Keep pressing lower back flat while you work the arms–that T-Tapp stance is powerful!
Oh Boy!!!! Total Workout Instructional was tuff !:) This was the first time I worked all the way through. Although towards the end I was unable to finish each “rep” so I just tried to hang in there till she smiled and said YOU DID IT !!!!! Thank you for helping us with this 4 day boot camp! I know you are very busy! Hope you have a good day!
Me likey. 🙂 I MOSTLY did 4-6 reps in the first year!
I’m drinking my water now and will start Basic + Instructional in about 10 minutes.

Good idea to check in BEFORE: it will keep you accountable to DO it!
I had to start on Monday because I am busy this weekend and I knew I would give up on my T-Tapp. I am about to tackle day 4 of Basic Workout. So excited! And thrilled about the accountability. 🙂
That’s so great, Sierra! Woo-hoo YOU!
Did the old MORE all the way through with a break for my inhaler. 100* days wreak havoc with the asthma. Plan to start the next one early in the morning, so much easier then!
Bless your heart! But MORE rocks!
I have had ttap basic instructional for ages, dabbled with it a few times. But this time I want to really do it! Just did it and oooohhh it’s so hard! :). I need to lose ALOT! But have adrenal fatigue. Will I be able to do the 14 day bootcamp, taking just Lords days off?
Jenny, do a 4-5 day bootcamp. Getting exhausted and burning out and needing to take a long time off afterwards doesn’t do you any good. A bootcamp is CONSECUTIVE days, so taking a day off means you’ve ended the bootcamp. Long bootcamps were NOT the key to my success!
Ok, so since I want to take Lords Day off. It looks like this will be a three day bootcamp for me (once a day). Do you suggest another four day bootcamp mom-thurs, or tues-Friday of next week?
If it will work, a 4-day bootcamp would be optimal because the minimum bootcamp length is 4 days. Teresa designed this workout (and bootcamp guidelines) for physical reasons, so go for it. That said, your 3 days is valuable, too!
I did my first day of bootcamp using the healthy hormone video! Not sure how to keep muscles activated during the kick-outs and knee-ups but I felt the difference in muscle activation with the tips/hints/instructions during the rest of the moves 🙂 Thank you Charlotte for the tip of the mitten width apart for the feet – what a difference.
For muscle activation during kick-outs and knee lifts, three things: press lower back flat to keep the tuck, lift ribs to stay tall, tall, tall and really stretch the thumbs and pull knuckles back on the “gorilla hands.” These will help!
Did Step Away the Inches this morning and MORE Level one this afternoon. I am so glad you were doing this boot camp. I have been in a slump and needed to get started again. It felt so great to do it. This is the first time I have done 2 workouts in one day. Let’s see how I feel tomorrow. I can really tell when I don’t keep up with T-Tapping. I have a lot more aches and pains. Good job to everyone! Thanks Charlotte for giving the encouragement!
Congrats on your accomplishment, Jill! *cheering you on!*
Since I started my BC on Monday before I knew about the T-Tapp Together BC, I experienced the day 4 hurdle today. I’m using the 67 minute Senior Fit workout, and today I needed to do it in two, 33 minute chunks. Actually, the 3 previous days I reached a point in the 2nd half of Sr. Fit where I had a very difficult time holding form and muscle activation. Today, I took about a half-hour break; long enough for my pulse to come down and the sweat to dry, before tackling the 2nd half, and that little rest helped me get through part 2. I’m gearing up for tomorrow, my Day 5, and I’ll see what happens after that. My heart is willing, but I don’t know if the rest of my body is! 🙂
Breaks are okay–they can help you maintain form and come back stronger! The only thing is, try to keep your breaks to 20 minutes or less so the effects of Primary Back Stretch don’t wear off!
Instructional #1X 2 done. And may I just say the handly little mitten form tip makes a HUGE difference in intensity. Wow. I’ve always felt a burn with T-Tapp in the past but wow, it really kicks things up a notch when you move those feet a bit closer together. Thanks, Charlotte!
Isn’t that little tweak amazing? The weight in heels is another one–we don’t realize how much we rock weight into our toes.
Oh, Charlotte, Thank you so much for doing this bootcamp! It’s just what I needed and the timing is perfect! Today I did TWO Instructional 1 & 2 this morning and then the full TWO Beg/Rehab this afternoon! Wow! It was amazing! I’m going to be sore tomorrow! It feels like such a great accomplishment to have gotten through that workout twice in one day – I never would have done that without this bootcamp! Thank you again!
Woo-hoooo!!! It’s funny how much more we can do when we’re in a *group* and we set our minds to it. GREAT job!!
Thanks Charlotte for suggesting we do this. It has gotten me started back. I’ve done 3 days of BWO+ now. I started with the instructional the 1st day. I plan to do through Sat on BWO+. I’ll take Sunday off. Then I’ll “try” to do the Sr Fit next week. Wow I had 3 weeks that I did nothing because of a fall that injured me. And I hadn’t been very consistent lately anyway. It’s really tough just to do BWO+ after that.
Hang in there! Whenever I’ve had a break, I work back up to it and within a couple of weeks I feel much stronger. It will get better, I promise!
I started yesterday but couldn’t get to the website to see the details. So, I did the first half of maxi- max and today I completed the other half. I also walked outside first. The walk helped me psych up for my workout. I feel so much better. My plan is to do one half again tomorrow, see how I feel and hope to continue the next day.
*gulp* Maxi-Max. My hat is off to you! Good idea to listen to your body and push a little!
Day 1 of 2-a-Days… DONE! Woot!… I did Instructional 1 this morning and BWO+ this evening… Pretty sure I’m going to be feeling it tomorrow 😉
Haha! But that *feeling it tomorrow* also comes with a bit of pride and accomplishment! Good job, Beverly!
Day 1 down…did BWO+ I really wanted to do the full workout, but fizzled by the time I got home from work and errands. Cheers to all!
Hey Renae, a BWO+ IS a full workout! Compare it to, say, sitting on the couch. Great, great job to persevere even though you’d had a busy day!
Just saw this. Would like to join in but I’ll have to measure tomorrow morning, I’ve already eaten today. Excited to have some accountability!
I’m glad you’re joining in! Come on in!
Did the Instructionals for the Total Workout Thursday! Made it all the way thru except for the last move…I am feeling sore this morning, but in a good way! Thanks Charlotte for motivating me to get back to T-Tapp after several months off!
Yayyy! I love this–everyone jumping back in together! Good on you!
Am I missing Day 2’s tip? Should I be going somewhere else to find it? Yesterday’s tip of the mitten was perfect! I’ve been way too far apart all this time. Made a huge difference. I made it through my two workouts, and am soooooo sore this morning. But I’m drinking my water and read all your posts and am GOING FOR IT!!!!
Hey Rhonda, Day 2 is up now–it was just a little late because I didn’t have internet till early this morning! Keep going for it!! 🙂
I completed day 1 yesterday with both my workouts being BWO+ but in the morning I added awesome legs and OIP/Half frogs.
It amazes me just how strong I feel. I am standing straighter and taller already, I can really feel the difference.
I’ll be doing my day 2 workouts at noon and after work today and…I’m actually looking forwrd to them!
Go, Bette, go!!! 🙂
Day 1 finished with Sr. Fit warm up and BWO+. Day 2 Sr. fit warm up this a.m. and Sr. Fit instructions, another Sr. Fit instruction later today with . You mentioned Day 2 is up.Where are the Day 2 tips?
Thank you so much for all the encouragments and for the Bootcamp. This has really been a big help for my friend I am helping.
Hi Janice–there is a post for each day, so just go to the Home page (tab at the top) and you’ll find them…
Day 3: Finished the 15 minute Plus and the Walk away the inches. Amazing how good it feels! Lots of tips for technique. Love it.
Yayyy for finishing Day 3, Gale!!
Charlotte, thanks so much for this challenge, I am on day 3 so excited that I have done BWO+ for 3 days now! I was a consistent t-tapper in 2002 and 2003, so this is a great jump start for me. I’m really out of shape, and need to lose a lot of weight, as well as a lot of inches. Should I do BWO+ for 5 days a week? Congrats to everyone who is taking the challenge and rolling with it!
BWO+ five days a week would be a great schedule. For me, 3x week was enough to maintain, 4x week for inch loss, and 5-6x week gave faster inch loss. I’m glad you’re back to T-Tapping!
Gail,
thanks for confessing! Me too!!!! Totally out of shape. 🙁 Got some catching up to do.
Go girl!
Lourdes
HALLELUJAH! I MADE IT THROUGH 4 DAYS OF BOOTCAMP! I HAVE TO KEEP GOING! CONGRATS TO ALL MY FELLOW BOOTCAMPERS WHO MADE IT! CHARLOTTE, THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. GETTING READY TO GO ON A RETREAT SO I’ll NEED TO BRING MY PORTABLE DVD PLAYER WITH ME.
GAIL
Dear Charlotte and friends,
Hello! I have been going through a big change in my work and had not read about this bootcamp. But, as soon as I read the first comment, I realized that I am also celebrating anniversary. I first found out about T Tapp when you appeared in the July issue of Women’s Day. What was that? three years ago? or is it also four?!!!!
Anyway, this has inspired me to do my own boot camp which I will begin tomorrow. Yes, I think that I will start with Basic workout one, instructional.
Best regards and best wishes to all the participants!

Hello! I now know that this bootcamp is over, but regardless, here I am with accountability to myself. Although I was supposed to start yesterday, today was my start up date. Did the BWO+ instructional. Had spaggetti legs, tons of sweat and a hard time keeping form. But,
I DID IT!!!!
Regards
Lourdes
